I've longed admired Galvan Reels and felt them to be one of the better buys in the industry. Still somewhat of a boutique outfit, they are a highly reputable company with reels to match. Their reels range from the smallest trout reels in the Traditional and OB (Open Back) large arbor reels, all the way to the Torque series' T-12.

Because it feels somewhat intuitive, I've always felt they were a natural complement with Winston rods and have thus paired this reel with my newly acquired TMF. With an incredibly smooth start-up drag, combing this feature with the Winston's soft tip, I'll be able to use my "standard" 7x Frog Hair with greater confidence, and even use 8x when needed (Little Lehigh).
